Hi.....Excuse me being a bit of a Pleb, but is the Pre-heat dashboard light on a LJ70 1988, supposed to stay lite for the duration of the timer, this being dependant on the temperature !!   My pre-heat lite stays on for only 3 secs, when ambient temperature is 3 degs ??

Switch to pre-heat position, wait until light goes out ( just a few seconds ) and then turn key to start. Should burst into life pretty much instantly.

The light stays on at full power to the glowplugs , then goes off while the plugs are running at a lower voltage.  Mine stays on for about 3 seconds at almost any temp. In summer at 35c , they are on for about a second and once in 42c it didnt come on at all from a cold start.
