I have fitted LEDs to all front and rear indicator light pods and as suspected they flashed very quickly as the current drain is much less than the normal bulbs so the flasher relay unit is seeing this as a failed bulb and warning of this is by rapid flashing. No problem in sourcing 6 Ohm, 50 watt load resistors so fitting one in parallel to each of the 4 indicator bulbs provides the higher load for the flasher to think that the bulb is intact so having a normal flash rate. This is a temporary fix as I want to replace the flasher relay unit with a unit designed to drive the lower current consuming LEDs maintaining the correct flash rate. The problem is that the original flasher relay unit on my 1999 Colorado is a weird 10 pin relay that plugs into the rear of the fuse box above the drivers foot well. My Toyota and Max Ellery manuals only cover the more conventional 3 pin flasher relay units and I need to know where I can get the electrical wiring diagrams so I can convert to the conventional 3 pin flasher unit. Thanks for any help.
