has anyone fitted gas struts to there bonnet to keep it open instead of the metal bar and some pics wud be very helpfull.

Pimp my 4x4 LoL

I've not fitted them to the colorado, but have fitted them to a car in the past, the set I bought came with pretty good instructions, was pretty much a case of finding two good parts of the bonnet and inner wing to drill, I guess a kit specific to the vehicle may inlude a purpose made bracket either end...

The '100-Series' (Amazon) has gas struts instead of a bonnet prop (just visible here):




You may be able to get some Toyota parts for the conversion (but an after-market kit will undoubtedly be cheaper!).

thanks for the picture dave and just gives me an idea were to start .
may have to drill the bonnet but plenty of 10mm wing bolts to work off. Very Happy

I had to fit two new struts to my cruiser last year, think I paid around £18.50 off e bay.
