I have just purchased a 2009 Invincible. I will take it off road in Spain where its dry and mostly very easy driving. So my main milage will be motorways towing a caravan  just 1.5 tons.

What is your suggestion for some new tyres?

Verry happy with Michelin tyres, done more than 130.K with two sets of it (off-road and lots of highway).

I've just had 4 Firestones fitted to replace the Michelin latitudes i had on and to be honest i cant tell the difference but i dont drive the truck hard, the handling and road noise seem the same and these tyers are cheaper, i also tow a caravan and again i didnt notice any difference whilst towing.

I'm very satisfied with the Yokohama GO15's, quiet with smooth ride, genuine winter rated but ok for all year use, handle well and very stable on the road, superb wet grip and clear standing water well, been on for over a year now and no signs of any wear.

They did not come with massively deep tread like some AT tyres though, 9mm if i remember correctly, when some others have around 12/13mm to start with, i would buy them again unless i could find BFG AT's at a sensible price, i paid about £115 for the Yokos.

running 265/65 x 17's @ 34psi all round, migh try raising the pressures in the summer.

Wooly0000, i've seen some of the refurbs, basically the whole wheel powder coated in the standard not particularly bright paint, and compared to the OE finish they are undewhelming.

If you're getting proper refurbs, recut and laquered faces and the rest painted then rip his arm off because i understand refurb to OE standard is usually £100+ each.

I used to be a member of one of the Merc forums, and they had lots of experience with refurbing diamond cut and laquered wheels.

Some of them had seen refurbs where the whole wheel was painted, but with new chrome paints, which gave a much brighter, almost sparkling effect like the OE finish on our wheels have, where you would get those done i have no idea, someone once mentioned Pristine Wheels, but really i'm out of the loop on that.

There a couple of places at Birmingham who specialise in wheel refurbs, i've had them done at LapTab before, they used to offer special silver as they called it, very good finishing, might be worth a call.
And this lot seem to be the cheapest about,     https://www.citypowdercoating.co.uk/#!    whether they could do something special with our LC wheels i do not know, it'll probably be another 2 or 3 years before mine get too scabby, and i too shall be on the lookout.

Course you may someone nearer just as good, or better, if you get yours done and are happy let us know will you what the score is please.

That sounds more like the price for diamond cut and laquered refinishing, be interested to know what the finished job is like...though i can well understand not wanting to fork out that kind of dosh.  Embarassed

If anybody fancies a set of those Yokohama GO15, currently a bargainous £107 ish on Camskill, who also have Continental Cross contact LX2 @ £109, roughly a tenner to get a set of 4 delivered last time i bought from them.
Good prices for premium rubber.

Currently £96.70 plus the minimal postage on Camskill, that's cheap for good rubber.
