Hi All
Ive just bought an old LJ70, 2.4TD 1986, I ve just driven her right across Spain and Ive had a few problems. The first was the rocker gasket (or it looked like the previous owners attempts to instant gasket it, anyway it got me here just about. Whilst my head was  in the engine, I noticed behind the casing for the timing belt, there was loads of filler or something, it had been messily applied over a large ish area...I cant tell if it is leaking from here, as the rocker cover had been dripping above it and the whole area is covered in oil. Ive ordered a new Rocker gasket and im going to clean up the area  so I can see better. Does anyone have any ideas what someone might have done? Im guessing theres a hole somewhere, that has been messily filled...(whilst secretly hoping that this is not the case). Ive heard that the 2.4 turbo can have head problems, is this true and what are the problems?
Thanks a lot everyone!
