My 05 Landcruiser LC5 D4D has developed a curious intermittent problem.
It started but then immediately turned the engine off.
The RAC diagnosed low voltage in the batteries and jumped it back to life.
He said the vehicle was sensitive to low voltage and had engaged the immobiliser.
All worked fine for a few months and then the problem recurred.
Low voltage blamed again so we replaced both batteries.
All fine again until today when the problem recurred again. Batteries are just a month old and both read 12.6 volts.
RAC disconnected both batteries, reconnected and then the car started just fine. He suggested it was an ECU fault and we effectively reset it by disconnecting the batteries. The car equivalent of turning it off and then back on again, like a computer I suppose.
Can anyone suggest what the underlying fault is here? And how I can cure it.
Any advice gratefully accepted.

I'd start by checking the main battery connections at each end. Especially the earth cables where they meet the body. A little rust can cause voltage fluctuations and cause havoc.
I see you posted this query a while back so hope you are still active on the forum? I am having a similar problem with my 2006 LC4 Cruiser with D4D engine. Not got to the bottom of it yet. Did you ever get your issue sorted out?
