My 96/7 Colorado has always started first time but now will not start from cold. Diesel is okay and GLow plug power is present but it will not start. I suspect a relay problem but has anyone any ideas? A sensor perhaps? |

I would check glow plugs with multimeter.

Thanks Drew. There is power to the rail but I’ll try the individual plugs too. |

Could be the fuel lines - usually where they enter/exit the tank. The fuel drains out of the lines back to the tank overnight because of a pinhole, so you are effectively re-priming when you turn the key. A simple test is to hand pump the primer on the fuel filter when you would expect a hard start. If it fires up straight away after hand priming then you have your answer. Plenty of threads about it here and elsewhere if that is your prob.
Might not be this though. Usually they do actually start, although require extended cranking. _________________ 1997 KZJ90 3.0d, 2" suspension lift, 235/85/16 Cooper STT Pros. 217k hard miles |
