Has anyone swapped the old headlamps and indicators from the up to 99 model for the later clear headlamps and indicators from the 2000 on model just trying to give the front a bit of face lift.

Did this mod when I imported mine from Europe and had to fit RHD lights.
Seems simple but it is not.
You need the newer headlamps and also the indicators as they fit together differently.
The inside of the headlamp lenses are a different angle so you need the facelift grille.
The metal supports under the lights are different but to fit these you need the facelift bumper as the top edge
Is higher to fit tight under the headlamps.
And on and on and on...
In the end I had to use washers as spacers under all the headlamp bolts to fit and align them.
I got a replacement Prado JDM grille and still with a little fettling of the grille mounting holes in the headlamps all was well.

Sounds a nightmare, did yours have the round headlamps or square.

Had square headlamps to start with, it’s not too difficult in the end, you just need to get a different grille or at absolutely wont work.
I did get a facelift grille originally but because the facelift bumpers are different I didn’t like the big gap underneath.
