Hello.

Someone has kindly disabled/broken my 1999 4.7L Amazon's n/s wing mirror.  The glass is fine and it still responds to the L/R and Up/Down joystick control.  The problem is that the mirror housing extends fully forward every time I start the vehicle.  I can manually put the mirror back in place but clearly this is not a good, long-term solution.
I presume there's a component within the housing which has been loosened, displaced, or broken.  Correct?
So, will I need to take off the internal door trim, access the 3 mounting bolts and remove the mirror housing, before I can do anything?  Or, is there a way of accessing the innards of the housing by removing the mirror glass/mirror glass mounting plate?
If I remove the entire housing, is there a go-to guide to the innards and how to repair the broken component?
YouTube is a bit thin on the ground for help with this.  The most relevant video is in Russian!
Hope someone can offer some advice.
Thanks for your help.
Rory
