without going outside in the pouring rain, is  it possible to re-wire the rear lights from the bumper to the light cluster in the rear wings?

just a thought.

I am looking into doing the same thing.  Dont know if mine are the same as everyone elses (99 colorado VX ) but i have no brake or side lights in the body pod. i would like to wire the side and brakes up to them and still retain them in the bumper.

It must be possible!

My imported Prado only has reflectors in the bumper. All lights are in the body mounted sections.

I reckon that's the more sensible place to have them, too...

any chance of pics? it may be a case of getting the different light clusters and moving the wiring across.
