Is yours is an automatic? Mine is a VX petrol auto, and the O/D light is for the overdrive. If I switch overdrive off (button on the gear shift) the lamp glows steadily. Perhaps flashing mean a fault with the overdrive?

thanks proff
its an auto diesel and the 0/d light flashers when you have been accelerating fast and to stop it from flashing it seems to stop when you accelerate even harder (more revs)?
