Just bought a Landcruiser Colorado lwb 1998 3.4 auto. I have not taken delivery yet, but on the test drive, I noticed that the light does not come on in the 'd' gear position, but does so in all the others? is it supposed to? I seem to think it should but neither me nor the car dealer (non Toyota) are sure. Dont wanna rip out the dash for no reason!!! |

Funny, my 1996 VX does exactly the same! I suspect that Drive is the normal running position, so no indication. Less distraction for normal driving. |

It should be lit - you can replace the bulb by removing the facia panel to get the speedo unit, rev counter etc out.
Fiddly and time consuming but it should work!
