I am thinking of a 1" body lift on the cruiser.... mainly to allow better airflow to keep things a little cooler...
I used to have a 1.5" on the Surf...
I was just wondering what your thoughts are on this...
anyone on here done it? _________________ Early K-reg (UK truck) Landcruiser Amazon 4.2 TD VX |

No, as you do not need it to run 35s.

I know that was thinking of doing it for the airflow.... _________________ Early K-reg (UK truck) Landcruiser Amazon 4.2 TD VX |

TobyJug.
You don't need the added airflow on the LC unlike the Surf. also a suspension lift will better serve you and will be a lot easier. The LC body is a lot heavier than the Surf. Very rarely heard of a body lift on a LC unless someone is going for mega lift (like 6 + inches) which to be honest unless you are going to Iceland to compete with the Arctic Trucks guys will make the vehicle a pig to drive and worse to get in and out of.
Get a 2 inch lift, use either Old Man Emu, Toughdog or TJM springs and shocks and you will most likely get a better ride and be able to fit bigger tyres no problem.
That is unless you want to get into multi story carparks - which is why mine is standard height. _________________ 1999 Land Cruiser Amazon VX Active 4.2TD Auto

ive done an 1"and 1/2 on mine not to bad to do but i would not do it again due to the bumpers
a large gap on the front and had to make a new bumper for the rear
and plus getting the steering column spaced out right _________________ cheers

hey Andy...
I have a OME 2" sus lift on there just have to change the springs as they are standard height ones...
will do that sometime next week I think... So yeh multi story's are already out of the question..... lol
Fair enough about the airflow then....
Thanks Mark....
this thread has convinced me no to go for the body lift then.... lol _________________ Early K-reg (UK truck) Landcruiser Amazon 4.2 TD VX |
