Has anyone here used OpenStreetmap.org?
It's basically an equivalent to google maps but done by an open community. The idea is that you take the logs from your gps, upload them, they process them and display them on the floating world.
The reverse is also possible. You can pick an area and download an img file which Garmin will use as a navigable map.
The density of the maps is pretty good for the EU and other major areas. Places like Morocco have some coverage.
What would be good is as people go out and play, come back and upload your logs. That way others can start to use them as well as building up a decent offroad "map". I used it, both ways, for mountain biking.
