Hello there...

A quick question here,

Just wanted to know if the window switches on the drivers side of the LC4 are meant to be illuminated?
I notice that the drivers window switch and the door lock button above it are but the other 3 window switches (although they seem to have the light dot) are not....

Mr T recons that the ones which are lit up are so that the driver has a reference point...
sounds kinda iffy to me...

Anywho - would be appreciated if one could be told by fellow LC4 drivers out there...

Regards
Rob

IIRC, they are all lit but very dimly.

You'll get a flood of answers tonight though Wink

HMMM  scratch

I am sure that none of them are illuminated. well the ones I mentioned, the other 2 are bright as hell... that's why I thought I might have a fault...

can we pull the consol appart or is it a b**CH of a task to do, ie you need to pull off the door panel etc etc...

Regards
Rob

I'll check later for you and report back. I suspect it's only the driver's....sort of a Jap thing I think. Like when you use the rear window disable switch all the window switches are disabled, even the driver's, which is just so daft I can't put words to it.  Rolling Eyes  In my 30 years or so faffing around in cars it seesm to be only the Jap/ Asian cars that are like this. Maybe it stems from a Regs issue in that part of the word that doesn't get changed for Europe.  Confused

You see my thread a while back where I was convinced after faffing about with the battiers I was convinced I had broken my windows. Could not get them to work. Was because the switch was locked. I too am used to the switch disabling the other switches and leaving the driver's working fine.

While we on the subject, the whole "press the clutch to start the car" thing Korean cars have, had a friend of mine call the AA because his car was broken....

The Yaris has the same 'press the clutch' thing ....

SWAMBO got caught with that - I always depress clutch when starting a car - it's how I was taught.  She doesn't, so I never got caught, but she did the very first time she tried to drive her shiny new toy ...  Laughing  Laughing   ROTFLMAO at that for a while....  Mr T reckon they get lots of calls about it!!

Right, had a look. All the switches light up on driver's side, but only with the key in the ignition....(On the RAV only the actual driver's window button is lit which is rather mean. Also needs the key in to operate). Hope that helps.  Smile
