That looks like an exact copy. Wonder how well it would fit against the body etc.

Gary, what exactly are you looking to buy on e bay? Seem to be posting lots of e bay links... Laughing

Ummmm - OK - I admit it.  I'm looking for a rear door with spare wheel carrier.  But it must be a complete door - I don't want to have to buy expensive bits from Mr T to complete it - it would have to be painted as well, so it could get expensive.  I'm also looking for 5 steel wheels, and am struggling to find any the right size and offset.  I want to put my Cooper STTs on the steel wheels and then put reasonable road tyres (NOT Dunflops) on the alloys....

Neither of them is urgent or important .....

I was also looking for a cheaper ScanGuage II.  Found one for quite a bit less than the link I posted earlier wanted, but am still waiting for confirmation it'll work...

I suppose I should look for a Brantz trip meter.

From the pic it looks like a copy of the safari one.

Worse case, you might end up though penny wise very pound foolish if you buy it.
An ill fitting snorkel that either comes apart / leaks when you don't want it to, £160, inc P&P, is not really that cheap.
Best case, if you not happy, you can shell out for a safari one and it fits the existing holes you have cut into the body, worse case, it does not and you have a ruined A-pillar and fender.

You could of course end up with exactly the same snorkel as myself and Gary for £100 less than we paid. (£260 inc P&P)

I sent the following question to the seller:
Can you tell me anything about the construction of this Snorkel. It looks like a Safari. Is it designed to fit in the same holes cut for a Safari? What is the tubing made out of? Where are these Snorkels made? I'm just looking for some reassurance regarding the quality of the snorkel.

This is the response:
Lets take the answer in order :
Is a copy of safarisnorkel , the same material we test in heavy condition in forest and no any damage only some scratch.
I don't know if the holes for fix in the wing are the same as safari but in the kit is a template for making holes.
The material is LLDPE
The producer is a Taiwan company.
For hdj 90 you have to make some small changes because the kit is for 3,4 petrol engine and the air filter is a little diferent from diesel engine you can see some snorkels mounted here

Some little differences???

Like the air filter is on the other side on a 90 vs a 120???  That's not really a 'little' difference  Laughing

Unless 'some' 90's have the air filter on the right hand side?

Isn't Gepetto the same guy that made Pinocchio??  Hmmm - a wooden snorkel, then??

The one on the e bay photo is handed the right way for a LC120, presumably a diesel although it doesn't actually say from what I can see.

I should have clarified that I asked him about the snorkel for the 90. In any case, I think I'd rather just get a Safari and spend a little more for peace of mind. I've heard of problems with chipped plastic from inferior snorkels getting into the air intake.
