Just been drooling over the new LC outside my local dealer. Black and very very shiny. A very nice looking vehicle, looks a tad bigger than the 120.
A friend of mine in SA has also just ordered one - R650,000.00 (±£62,000.00). Takes delivery in Jan. Very jealous.

That's the 150 series, right?
Minor point - your R:£ exchange rate looks a bit out  Very Happy

Cheers,

Cheers,

Yes and, ever the pessimist Neutral
Actual exchange is £52k. Steep.

I did try float the idea past the wife. Tried the "...as our interest rate has come down on the house, the savign there could be used to...."

My ears are still hurting.

just went and asked nicely and they let me take the LC round the block.

It is a LC5 with all the bells and whistles. Is very nice inside but...does look like a disco3 at first glance. Still like it very much though Smile
I also notice switches for centre and rear lockers.

Gary: Forgot it had the fold away seats so it might have had them. I did not look in the boot and it had the tarpaulin covering it. (I had said it Gary it had no 3rd row but now stand corrected.)

ICE consisted of a center (large fold down jobbie) screen for the rear passengers and not individual ones.

Would I buy it? Yes, a second hand one. Not paying 44k for it. Take it through some narrow lanes? Forget it. To shiny and plastic (not to mention, 44k!). Sad

Dear Santa...

I hear rumours of a 3.0 D-4D V6 twin-turbo diesel coming for the LC150 mid-2010  Shocked

That would be cool  Laughing

They should then do the BM way of small + large turbo to reduce lag.

Depends how the engine is designed - easy to use different size turbos on the BMs because they're normally turboing straight 6 or 4 cyl engines. [Ok, they're starting to boost their V8s too but not sure if they're doing the big + small turbos on that?] Presumably Toyota would use one turbo per bank of cylinders of the V6, so identical turbos would be needed. They could go for a common/single manifold approach but that would cancel out much of the benefit of running twin turbos I would think  Question
My 2c anyway  Cool

Cheers,

Just been shown one at my local dealer when buying oil, left with a brochure even though I told them I was not buying one Very Happy

Just a few details of note.

LC3 starts at just under 30K
LC4 at 40K
LC5 at 45K

LC5 has variable height air suspension LC3 and LC4 has coils.

Engines the 1KD-FTW @ 173 DIN (hp) Max Torque 410 Nm between 1600-2800 rpm

Seems like they all have traction control which can apply the brake to one wheel if traction is lost, but you can only get a "proper" locking rear diff on the LC5 which comes with it as standard
