Thinking of trading up to one of these for normal road use and towing a caravan. Any idea what fuel consumption figures I can expect on long and short journeys and with and without a 1500 Kg caravan?

Errol,
Contrary to polular belief, this diesel engine does not empty oil wells that quickly.
I do a lot of towing (Boats up to 4 ton (I know!!)), but then also use it for cruising down to France etc... Realisticly, expect the following.
Not towing - Around town 15-19mpg, Motorway (75mph) 24-29mpg
Towing (deep breath) - Around town 12-16mpg, Motorway (60mph) 22-25mpg
