According to the trailer for the Top Gear Bolivia Special, one of the vehicles that the intrepid team will use is a 40.

I enjoyed that! thought they were a bit unfair on the 40 as it was the oldest of the lot! but very cool to see one on the TV. It does amuse me how set up top gear is. |

Just goes to show how contrived TG really is but we shouldn't expect anything else because as we know (and the rest of the world - civilised and not) the 40 is the best and the RR is the weakest link.
The main lesson surely is, for anybody thinking of taking the spring over axle hike, lengthen the propshafts!
Sadly, a friend is looking for the shaft hand brake that they merrily disgarded - they are hen's teeth. (anyboby got one for sale???).
Thought RH by selecting reverse would have come straight out of the ditch but then it was a tv programme. Figure they had a lot of help from the crews and in Small Talk on the forum others seem to think that the crew were in LCs.
Enjoyed it though and never in a month of Sundays would they have had the 40 win as we were the the only country that never officially let them in other than the one that Toyota had for themselves.
Was good to see a 40 on the tv other than a brief glimpse.
