Hi all
Got to say it's a grate forum I've read all I can find on alarms and remote locking
I have had lots of problems with my alarm so I removed it all of it I was wondering if the remote door lock should still work? It’s a 1999 Colorado GX TD |

If you have really removed all of it, then no, I wouldn't think that it would work at all. It's all one system. The immobilizer is part of the car, I believe but the alarm is s separate system and included the door locks.

I think that it will take more than a battery. What's the fob going to talk to? He's taken the whole system out of the car. You need the sensor and control unit to trigger the doors etc. You can disable the alarm and just have the locking function - IF you still have all the system left in the vehicle.

Yes, there is a battery in it. That isn't always the issue, but it's worth trying. You might have to press and hold both buttons for a sew seconds to re-sync the fob to the alarm. If the little red light on the fob doesn't work when you press it, it's the battery. Let us know what happens and we'll talk you through the rest.
