made a simple storage 'system' out of 15mm copper pipe and 6mm ply board on top with room for 6 foldaway crates .. 3 wide and 2 deep. Can still use mid (back) seats if wanted and may modify the top board to fit 2 spare wheels each side standing up by rear slide windows as the underbody spare location appear vulnerable.

the copper pipe is just soldered to a frame with a top and weighs just 10kilos with the ply top.

Hi andrew well the thing is aesthetically challenged but then arent all prototypes!!  Embarassed

essentially its just a rectangular frame with normal plumbing soldered joints for rigidity, cabled tied to the floor hooks (could be fixed better) and 6mm ply also cable tied but to the frame.

Made a huge difference this xmas took cruiser to brittany and you know the sandbag brought 8 jackets, 10 pairs of shoes, month worth of food and could never get to my own kit. if got unfortunate enough to get puncture you normally have had to dif out trolley jack, triangle, dayglo jacket and spares etc from beneath a huge pile of ... "stuff" but not this time, tool kit, jack etc all tucked nicely away and easy to get to.

If were to improve it may be a few inches smaller to fit spare wheel or a security box section .. will post to photos but its a little embarassing as i'm not an engineer .. or a plumber  Laughing

Hi I'm new to this forum, but I own a 60 and it's taking me to cape town. I'm just about done in the boot but it would be nice to have the fridge on runners.

Has anyone ever used the accuride range? They seem cheap (maybe too cheap) at strutsdirect

Sorry to piggy back the thread, but it seems to be on topic  Smile
