i want to fit a pair of spots to the front of my 120: what are my options?
can i mount some directly to the top of the bumper (with it still looking ok) or i am better off splashing out on an a bar with mounts? (if so can anyone recommend a supplier?)
in an ideal world i'd have decent front bumper / a bar (i've got one on my defender 90) but the prices i've seen for ARB ones are scary! I've been down the spen spend spend avenue with landrover accessories, onc you start you cant stop!
any help / advice appreciated!

The problem with mounting lamps on bumpers would be vibration, as the bumper is plastic and say you put a 160mm spotlamp with a single bolt on fitment( common type round ones you know) the lamp pivots on this point and eventually could pull weaken the mounting area through the plastic bumper, especially with the state the roads are in, they would constantly be( for want of a better word) vibrating.
I would recommend getting A bar for it, for a few reasons, they look good, you can mount lamps onto it, they double as a parking sensor.
I have 160mm or so on my 90/95 and they are on a full wrap around bar and there is mounting bracket on the bar, still solid enough steel for mounting to take the weight of the spots.
best option is to use a google search and you can get nice stainless ones for reasonable money in the uk.
Hope this helps |
