Trying to insure my new 78 series Land Cruiser. Not straightforward - LHD, non EU model. No joy from 2gether, Adrian Flux, NFU, CIS or the other usual suspects.

However, Carole Nash came up trumps. Car is on their system, recognised correctly as an HZJ78. Fully comp insurance for partner & me, plus European breakdown plus Green Cards for both Morocco and Tunisia, £520 the lot.

No fuss, top marks!

I have now gone with CN and got the correct insurance for my HZJ78.

It was more than I paid 2GR but at least it is underwritten by Norwich Union a reputable insurer...

Interesting Carole Nash told me they do not cover any 4WD for off-road and that includes green laning. Went through the arguments about green lanes being roads - they wouldn't have it. No cover outside Europe. Missold me a policy which I'm now getting out of because the first bloke I spoke to said off-road wasn't a problem. They have told me it will take weeks to find the transcript because they are "short-staffed" and also they can't seem to reproduce the letter i sent them which asked them specifically why off-road wasn't in the exemptions [which meant i was fine for off-road]. I have recorded subsequent conversations and the guy admitted I was probably missold. Overall, a pain.
