Does anyone have a set of instructions for the workings of the AC controls in a 1991 imported 4.2 VX? Ever since a well known care spare supplier trashed my dash with their free radio fitting offer I am uncertain if the controls are working correctly now.
By the way if anyone offers to free fit the radio you purchased in their nationwide Christmas sale take a good look at what they are offering. I ended up with a bill for £426 to get the damage repaired. The radio cost £250 in their half price with free fitting offer!
It took 2 fitters 5 hours to trash the dash and admit that they could not fit the radio in to a Jap import because it was a "Jap DIN fitting that you have there mate and we didn't know it was an imported vehicle and the offer of free fitting does not apply to Jap imports and a British radio DIN don't fit where a Jap DIN came out off." There is more to the story but I don't think anyone would believe me. I am off to buy these fitters a dictionary so that they can look up what DIN means.

They don't know what they are talking about, the import fits the same as the UK spec ones, double fin hole that you either fit a double din UK unit in or use the bracket and a blanking plate or single din pocket. They were obviously just know nothing monkeys.

If you have the full climate control, AC works all the time unless you switch it off. For the climate, everything is auto set although you can select any of the items, air direction, AC on or off, fan speed, recirc or fresh air all manually. The Auto climate will sort out anything that you haven't manually selected.

Hope that this helps.
