Im almost embarassed to ask this question but can some one tell me where abouts on the dash panel the ignition light, oil pressure light and heater plug lights (if any) are to be found. Its a 1984 BJ40 3 litre diesel four speed manual. Parking brake and 4 wheel drive lights are present but not the others. I have a workshop manual but it not very helpful.
Thanks in advance.

hi picon
if you havn't found out already- there is no ignition (charge) light. you should have an ammeter instead albeit probably useless. no heater plug light as such but you should have a glow controller screen which will show red in dim light after around 10 secs. usually below left of your speedo casing. no oil pressure light as such-you have a fuel pressure gauge and as a precaution at low pressure the edic system will shut down the motor. fyi your parking brake light doubles as brake fluid pressure warning so if it remains on with parking brake released you have a system failure.

Hi Rob
Thanks for your reply. Very helpful. I did wonder what the device was below the lights switch. As you say the ammeter is pretty useless but im thinking for my own piece of mind I might put an ignition light and oil pressure gauge or light in.
Best regards
Todd
