Does anyone have any experience of shipping an HJ47 troopcarrier from Australia? I'm looking at an '82 one, but it's quite a commitment for a vehicle I don't have chance to inspect first... From what I've read, it seems possible to get parts for them over here. It looks great on the internet, but who knows!

I've had a 1984 HJ47 in the Uk for 10 years now, imported from Sydney.  Needed a rear fog light to pass UK MOT.  Spares have not been an issue.  Either Toyota UK, import from Aus, or parts like exhaust are fabricated here.

Hi. Yes, I managed to find an Australian import 75 series in the UK, which I bought last autumn. I've been converting it over the last few months into an expedition vehicle to take to Africa. Here are some photos....

I'll add some updated photos soon - it's now had a snorkel fitted, solar panel and an extra 150L fuel tank, along with all the other modifications. For some reason that I can't now remember, I posted the actual build thread on "the other" landcruiser site.

It's off to Namibia next month

John
