Hi, first post so please be gentle with me,
I have a 1985 HJ60 H2 106,000miles G spec auto, great car, had it for 10 years, where it has retired with me to southern Spain, had my first problem two weeks ago, it was a fuel problem, and to cut a long story short, it now runs ok, but it won't tick-over, at the moment I use the hand throttle to keep the revs up, what I need to know is what does the screw with a locknut on the side of the pump does, and how do I adjust the tick-over, and also, what should it tick-over at, rev wise please.
Many thanks,
Jeff. |

Those are very low miles for a HJ60.
I would check the EDIC and look for air leaks. |

I bought the car off a friend, he in turn had bought the car in 1999 from the original owner who bought it new in 1985 and it had only covered 45,000 miles, since moving to Spain 10 years ago I don't suppose the car has done more than 5,000 miles as we have another car, mainly it has been used to move caravans around our campsite, a tragic waste of a great car, but I need a 4x4 for the work, which it does with ease, the problem I had with the fuel having air in it was solved after reading one of the forums, turns out that the bleed nipple banjo bolt had been fitter to the inlet side of the fuel filter, once changed and bleed the two week headache went, the car fired up as if nothing was wrong, need to get a Haynes manual.
Thanks for the tip.
