|

Hi,
I have new 150 Prado 2.7L petrol. 3000km done. Living abroad in country with poor fuel, but use injector cleaner etc. Weirdly the vehicle loses power at virtually the same time every day, for about an hour period! The rest of the time it runs fine.
It is like there is a shortage of fuel/bad fuel and you just have to feather the power to keep the car moving. I've been wondering if the vehicle ECU has an internal clock and there may be a fault or something.
Anyone heard of an issue like this before?
thanks |

No, this seems more to do with the time of day. It always occurs between 1430 and 1530 (the return school run!). The amount of time the vehicle has been used before this point doesn't seem to have a bearing on it.
I know I'll have to take it to the dealer, but just wanted to try and understand the problem a bit more, as the dealers here (Nigeria) are unpredictable and incredibly expensive - USD200 just to run the basic diagnostic test (ie 5 mins!) and the 'independent' garages are often clueless. |
