can anyone tell me if the [D] light in the centre of the dash comes on when in drive,all the others light up when selected,ie park, reverse,low,2nd.

Yes, they should all light up. Also should have an "O/D off" warning lamp  too.

the od light works fine,,do you know if it is individual bulbs in the shift panel..

The " D " on mine doesn't work either, doesn't bother me, but a lot of people say when it does work it can be anoying & distracting, they are seperat bulbs & if you are going in there change ALL the bulbs you can see or when youv'e got it all back together you'll find one or more of the bulbs that previosly worked now doesn't.

Hi
All lights in dash are seperate bulbs very small checked mine when cam belt light screw needed swaping over for cam belt warning light but it was too late in the day to check for spare bulbs which I think will be a toyota part .Had to put dash back together as I needed to use vehicle
It is only a 10 minute job to get dash out to replace bulbs .I just swapped 2nd bulb for Drive bulb left bulb in in case it checked circuits for a missing bulb .
Will check type etc when I get chance to take dash out again,the light on gear selector is just on bulb 3watt Laughing
