One of my good friends who returned to Cape Town last year, is a sales man in Market Toyota in Cape Town.
They lived in our house for a while, so there is a good relationship there.
If any one is interested, I will drop him a mail, and ask him his best price.
He would invariably, sell to me, ( aka us ) at a reduced margin if I asked him.

You won't get a LHD vehicle in SA - illegal to import them now, and they only manufacture RHD, being one of the ex-colonies  Laughing   Although they may do some export-only vehicles for other markets - VWs I think are being made there and exported to LHD markets ...

.
.
Gary is correct, No LHD.
The only LHD are the ones in SA before year 2000

Unless done as a special temporary import.

So, sorry, no LHD available.

Once you have managed to ship the vehicle back to the UK you will need to get a uk MOT

Importing a vehicle yourself

You must show your vehicle meets environmental and safety regulations or has an exemption. You’ll need:
a European Certificate of Conformity if your vehicle is right hand drive - you can get this from the manufacturer
a European Certificate of Conformity and a certificate of Mutual Recognition if your vehicle is left hand drive
an Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) certificate if your vehicle has no European approval

As it's a personal import the rules are different, I used to import Japanese cars but most were over 10 years old.

I know this is an old thread but is this relatively easy to do. I liked the look of getting Footloose to do it but sadly it seems they have gone bust, any other firms doing say. A 4.2 76 series sounds like what I'm after
