changing fob from 1 car to another

hi, I have 2No. 97 coloado's. One died so is acting as a very usefull donar on the drive.
The donar has a 2 button alarm fob, but new one aquired with no fob at all. I have checked the new car and it has exactly the same alarm.
Is it possible to pair the existing fob to the new car I bought.
I have read some threads about programming fobs to cars and wondered if anyone knows if it is possible and how to do it.
