Just posted this in the 100 series technical forum, but just trying to spread my coverage....

We are upgrading our 100 series '07 Amazon touch screen with a new head unit, and have run into some major problems!

The idea was to get rid of the cassette player from below and add cubbyhole, and use a new CD / SAT Nav touch screen unit on top.  The installation went OK (physically), but, among other problems, the climate control is now completely inoperable.  It turns out the main head unit manages the climate control via the built in buttons, so removing this removes the main brain.  We have looked into a bespoke circuit board, but been told it's neigh on impossible.

We are also hoping to integrate the AC system with a custom built cooler box in the centre console.  Until we sort the initial problem, this is looking like a pipe dream as well.

We have been told that we might be able to circumvent the software issues by installing a stand-alone AC controller in the lower DIN (where the cassette deck was removed), but can't order this without a VIN number.

Rear demist
Front windscreen ventilation (including quick-clear)
Heated mirrors
Rear fan boost
Trip computer
Clock
Alarm/immobiliser indicator
Electric aerial control
