I have the toyota landcruiser LC5 d4d enginge
I had a rattle in my engine and thought I would change the
Oil. I was told there had been a recall to change copper washers
To aluminium. I had a call to say the injectors needed changing.
Had them all replaced ( my vehicle is 6yrs old) I did not have any
Warranty. I have FSH so why was I not informed of this problem until it
Was to late. I got in touch with Toyota constantly they gave in and just
Charged me for 2 injectors  at cost. I have my LC back but at 1500 revs
It's still making that rattling noise but not as bad. I would be grateful
For any input or advice as I am  woman on my own and I know garages
See me as a target

My 1KZ engine developed a rattle on the motorway last weekend and it resulted in a trashed crankshaft needing a replacement engine.

If it's the injectors that Toyota are blaming for the rattle I'd take it back and tell them they've not done the job properly as there's still a rattle. TBH they should have noticed it and investigated it on the test drive, if they bothered to take it on one!

Personally I'd put it into a trusted garage to get their opinion as it looks like the Toyota garage you used was a bit of a joke. But if you don't have one I suspose you're stuck with pushing the Toyota garage to do their job.

The air intake could be loose and if it was,it would be 30 second job to tighten the screws/bolts that hold it together and the mechanic should have done it on the spot.
Rattles can come from many places, the exhaust system is the most common.
At the moment you really need to ascertain whether or not you still have a bad injector in the engine.
