GG AT 2's are no longer made, I think they just make a new AT pattern now. _________________ It's Not a Bl**dy Jeep it's a Landcruiser

Hi Aroscow
No not got GG on the rears ...still running the OE dunlop AT20 Grand trek. Tried to get hold of a pair of GG but they are like rocking horse poo, and i was on slicks, so ended up getting a pair of BFG AT KO....well impresssed. Look good and drive good, cant wait to go mud plugging to see what they are like. they get ggod write ups, so hears hoping.

So if you have put a piar of BFG AT on already, so why are you looking to put a pair of Generals on?
It doesn't make sense, unless I am missing some thing.
The BFG AT is a class leader, putting on any other AT is going to the weak spot.
Hold out an look for another pair of BFG AT.
Even if they are a little part worn, they would still be better than teh Gg AT2

The BFG At are not great in the mud compared to a dedicated mud tyre. they are not bad, just not great.
i find if i get in the gloopy stuff dropping pressure right down helps a lot.
With Vette on rating the BFG AT very highly. _________________ HDJ80, BFG AT's, grooved discs, OME 850/860's |

Hello aroscow, your post is quite right,
The BFG At are not great in the mud compared to a dedicated mud tyre. they are not bad, just not great.
i find if i get in the gloopy stuff dropping pressure right down helps a lot.
With Vette on rating the BFG AT very highly.
but who mentioned MUD tyres?
I thought we were all talking about All Terrain tyres?
Of course it stands to reason that any AT isn't going to be as good in the mud, as a full on MUD tyre.
I thought thatt would be more than obvious??
Lets talk apples or oranges,

i hate to do it, but i've got to disagree with uk vette
I've had at 2's on my on my car for approaching 3 yrs and cannot really find fault with them as an AT tyre. i had bfg at's on my last car and they were also excellent, but tbh any difference in anything but price is negligable, and on price the AT2's are a winner. |

Hi Vette
I'm no longer looking to put GG's on as i have now put a pair of BFG's on. Couldn't get the GG when i needed them so went for the BFG's and i will put another pair on the back when i get the bank balance back in the black. The motor is going to be like new at this rate as just put on a new rad. front discs and pads and pins, rear lamp cluster (near side of course), heater pipes to rear heater, atf fluid change and AF fluid change.
the joys! |
