Hi, good on you!, he is one lucky guy. i too imported a FJ40 from Oz back in 2010' and loving every minute of it, i kinda agree and disagree about the standard lump, mine has a Chevy V8 in it and it turns what is very special rare truck that people look at. into a special rare truck that people stop, stare, admire and hear. if you re going down the standard resto route i would leave the standard toyota lump but if its a toy for posing around and some off-roading and laning then go for the V8, also by the way mine has a brand new 350ci (260 hp) lump in it and still only does 55 to 60 mph before tinnitus and kidney failure begin to set in, so i wouldn't recommend any of them as a daily driver. would be nice to see some pictures, keep us all posted.
I have been out with Rob at a couple of events and most of the comments are that people have never seen two in the same together, get ready for plenty of on lookers and questions
good luck
Cheers
Jon

Hi Jon,

Great truck, I like the colour.  It's very much going to be a toy for having fun and off roading, I'm going to see what the engines like when it gets here but at the moment am thinking I'll leave it alone, I'm fairly confident that he'll end up changing it but I'll leave that choice down to him I think.

Well mine is all booked on now and will be setting off on the 28th!

Thanks
Steph

Here you go

I like it, I must admit the doors are better with the split window, when I dove my 40 it was a nice way to get some fresh air in by turning them so they angled in.

Nice truck.  He will love it even as is!

I would love to meet up!  I live on a farm around ashbourne way so kind of in the middle, it also helps as non of mine are moving at the mo. Or any time in the next few months. I am having a large workshop built with 5 bays and a lift, in the hope one day I can start to restore these things for a hobby/living.  Anyway

I upload the picture to photobucket, then click on the image and it offers you a few url options to access the pic, select the img one, it automatically puts it into your clipboard and then paste into your post. So the image you see on this post is just a link to its real location in photobucket.

Such as
