Hi, decided to replace the feeble oem twin horns on my 70 series, with fiamm highway blasters. The fiamms are used but known working, but when swapped with standard horns, will not work. I now think that the fiamms require a relay, because of their higher current draw, but not sure how to wire. there are 2 wires to each standard horn which I connected to the fiamms, with no success, a good earth being maintained through mounting bracket. I find that both original wires to each oem horn are permanantly live, so if they were connected to a seperate relay and then in turn to the fiamms, would this not activate the fiamms without pressing the horn button, as the live oem wires would energise the new relay? Reconnected oem horns which still work. How do I get over this? thanks guys.
