|
|
Just thought I would explain how the warranty on my Second Hand Lancruiser works.......I purchased the vehicle from Honda in Warrington, I have a rattling sound that appears in the engine area as soon as the A/C is turned on, I thought this must be the A/C, but when I was in at Toyota Warrington with a separate issue, the service guy had a quick look/listen, he appeared to think that it could be the water pump [belt under load when a/c turned on] now this would cost me around £80 for a proper diagnosis. Honda will not pay this because it's only a diagnosis...not a fault. BUT if I go ahead and pay for the diognosis and it shows that the pump or whatever is faulty...not dead but faulty, HONDA WILL NOT PAY, the part has to have FAILED.
I could be in Scotland or in France and the pump packs in...oh yes they will fix it then.......but only after I have whatever trip I am on ruined.
So I am in a quandary do I pay for the diagnosis only to be told that the part is faulty, but will still not get fixed, because it is still working or the way I am considering is get a diagnosis and the pay for the part myself.
What a bummer the HONDA warranty is...what do you guys think of that. _________________ 'They're coming to take me away..ha..ha'

Thor,
I agree, it's a *beep* warranty, however, If it was me I would get it fixed just in case you are in Scotland or France and it does pack up.... |

If it's the water pump that's rattling enough to be heard you should be able to feel play in the shaft without paying for a 'diagnosis'. If there is play then the water pump shaft bearing is no longer in spec and has therefore failed IMHO. Must admit I always treat second hand car dealer sales warrenty's as worthless. |
