I have a 3.0L TD Colorado on a W reg, year 2000, i have two questions, i have a lever by the left side of the auto stick, how do i use this and what does it do?

Also, i have a switch on the right side of the dash lower marked difflock, it seems to turn, what does this do and how do i use it correctly, engine running or what?

Numpty questions i know but they have had me wondering a bit.

Thanks
Alan

Do not use the diff lock on the road. The lever to the left of the gear stick will change between hi and low ratio. Lo is only req when off road.

Photos of my UK 90 Series manual -->Here<-- click on each picture for a larger version.

You have a centre diff lock and and rear diff lock by the sounds of it.

Lever next to the gear change, will lock the centre diff in high (normal) ratio, which you can do on the move, then if required, you can move it again to select low ratio, you need to stop to do this and select neutral.

The rear diff lock will only work in low ratio.
