Hi all, quick intro to me - Have a LC Prado 3.0 sx (kzj78W), had bull bars, side and back bars fabricated and installed locally here in Uganda, just put new tires on (Goodyear Wranglers), and have just order koni springs and shocks for all round (really hoping these improve the ride!!!). I work as an Aircraft Engineer for Mission Aviation Fellowship here and so love all things with engines. Also own a Honda CRM250AR. Anyone else in Uganda or Africa on here? |

Hi,
Welcome to the club. Would be good to see some photos of your Landcruiser with the modifications. Are the Koni shocks the 'Heavy Track Raid, versions? Any Good? Costs?

Hi Mark,
I've just joined the club - I'm in Tanzania (Kilimanjaro region) and have recently bought a secondhand 100 series Landcruiser VX. Beautiful car, African spec rather than a Japanese market import, though I don't think some of the trim is as tough as on the older 80 series LCs. I've had LCs since 1994 and they are terrific vehicles. The 1HD-FTE engine on the 100 is so much more powerful than the 1HZ I'm used to, but I'm a bit anxious about all the electronics - might just have to keep my old 80 series for really serious forays into the bush.
We used to have a MAF station here in Moshi but they shut it down - everything operates out of Dodoma now I think. If you come down this way, drop in - we're in Marangu, about 40 kms from Moshi.
