Hi Guys
A newbie to the forum so hi to all. Had a look through some previous threads could not see my issue there, so after some help/advice. I have a 2007 lc3 invincible. My air com has stopped working, was gassed not so long back, but the compressor was failing to engage, showing a fault on the dash, then a blinking light.
Having taken it to a couple of places they say replace the whole compressor including the clutch, which if needs must is fine-but I am not convinced. The inner part of the clutch spins freely by hand so i dont think its the pump, more likely to be the clutch. Anyone else had similar problems ?, or can anyone recommend somewhere where they know they are talking about with air con systems.
I am in essex, but prepared to travel.
many thanks |

Did it work after re gassing? could be a leak, or perhaps a relay or fuse. _________________ Do more with less. |

Hi there,
I had a similar problem in my Lexus which shares a lot of the LC technology.
I found that the clutch material had worn, it looks like cork but a bit more hard wearing. In my case I found a used compressor for £95 and an aircon specialist fitted and regassed it. I didn't check to see if the clutch was a standalone part. In any case it should be more accessible than mine was, so if you feel up to it you can remove the end plate and check. You should be able to hear the clutch cutting in an out when someone switches it on and off while you listen at the front.
I hope this helps |
