Hi all.

I posted in the Newbies section some time ago about considering a D4D 120 Series.

Since then circumstances have changed somewhat and I am instead looking at a 150 - 2009/2010.

However a brief search of the internet indicates that in Australia and SA amongst other places, injector problems have once again started becoming apparent on the D4D engines.

However - I can't find anything online that mentions it occurring in the UK.

Is this something to be concerned about when looking for a 150?  Or is it OK over here due to better fuel? Perhaps it just happens on modern CR diesel engines?

Any thoughts from those more learned than me much appreciated.

Thanks, Shay.

The only thing that I have seen is a fuel filter problem, this caused a loss of power after a few thousand miles, and Toyota have done a recall to change pipes and filter housing.

Hi I experienced the 120 injector seal failure, in fact I think I was one of the 1st on the 120 forum.

Been in my mind for the 150 series, but the sumps a completely different design, and I’m sure Toyota learnt they’re lesson.

I’ve not had the inkling to check myself, but having the car since 20k mls, and now nearing 70k mls, no problems in this area as yet, fingers X.
