Hi, I have just joined this Club but not new to Landcruisers and offroad driving.
I am unable to post pictures so I can only describe my problem
I have 2008 120 3ltr auto Landcruiser,,
there is an oil leak coming from a bung, or whatever it is, I have never seen this on an engine block before.
It is located on the near side block just under the starter motor and it looks plastic, round and is held with a 10ml bolt.
I don't want to take it out in case it is locating something. as I have no idea what it is for, but it is leaking oil badly.
Any help would be appreciated,Thanks!.

I think you will find it is the oil filter.

Oil filter is on the opposite side of the engine to the starter

They are actually on the same side.
Is there no one on here that can give me a sensible answer.
I asked what the small bung type thing that is held in with a 10ml bolt under the starter motor, this is the only thing that is on the block under the starter motor!

When you get the part maybe post the part number, as I've no idea what it is or does.
