Thanks to all who replied to my previous post on our timing gear issues. The car is now back on the road!

So time to address the problem which preceded that.  It's a mysterious one.

Does any one have any experience with the Speedo being inaccurate. At first it's fine, but when the engine is under load/hot it starts to read a bit faster than we are going (up to 30mph the other day while towing!)  When you stop it doesn't return to zero, but sits at the discrepancy out at idle.  Eventually when the engine is cool it returns to 0, then it's fine again on start up until it runs fast again.

Not sure if it’s related but also intermittently the volt meter on the instrument panel fails to read.

All other gauges and lights in the instrument panel seem to be ok.

We had been advised to check the speed sensor at the transfer box for oil contamination and we will do this, but wondered if anyone else has experienced this or has any other ideas?

The car is an 06 Amazon 4.2 Auto 1HD FTE.  We bought it 7 months ago and the first thing we did was have it undersealed, so we aren't sure if it's a historic issue or something affected by undersealing process.

Thanks in advance.
Fi
