First all Happy Xmas all. Have some questions about Prado.
anyone knows if the Import Prado comes with heated side mirrors? It’s a 1996 model.
Also there is a switch below the left of steering wheel with something like a fog light symbol, anyone knows what it is? The car comes with factory spot lights but those come on when in full beam.
Sorry the seller didn’t have the original manual, so hope someone can help here...
Thanks |

Being a Prado it wouldn't have a rear fog light, so expect any add on switches would be for that, and also don't think they had heated mirrors on that year. _________________ It's Not a Bl**dy Jeep it's a Landcruiser

Hi. Are there any lights in the front bumper in each corner? If there are turn on your sidelights and then flick or push that switch and see if they light up. The switch could be for front fog lights. Also being an import the front spots might be dual filament meaning that they have a dip beam and a full beam built into the light like my brother-in-laws prado. Try the switch with the sidelights on and see what happens. Only way to find out for sure _________________ Steve

Hi, Have a 96 Prado RZ 3 door.
No switch to left of steering but have 2 to the right, one operates front spots and looks factory option the other is a old fashioned metal switch in a recess and for the life of me can remember what it does! No lights in front bumper either! |

Thanks all, found 2 OEM loose end cables hidden under the front bumper. Maybe the switch I was trying to work out is for these. Mine got no front bumper fog light but has the 2 big hella spot lights on top of the Prado stock front bull bar.
Tried using sidelight with the mysterious switch but still nothing happen to the spotlights. The spotlights only come on on full beam, but appear to be quite dim when on. Not sure what the previous owner has done.. |
