Hi - I have read a few posts with this fault and I have a couple of questions.
On my 1999 3 Ltr. Colorado the Timing Belt Dash Light has come on and I need to remove it, as stated it is set for every 60,000 miles but when I had some work done on the LC back along I had a new Timing Belt, etc, fitted and then it came on later, so how do I remove it, the Speedo is a analogue type (thumb wheels) not digital.
Is this a complete Dash strip down to do it, I noticed one member had put photos on but they have now been removed.
Can this error not be removed via. a diagnostic test/scan tool?
Any assistance would be gratefully welcomed.
It's just a bloody nuisance looking at it on the dash all the time.

Hi.
You need to take out the speedo cluster . It is possible to do this by removing the plastic mouldings which surround the instrument  panel. There is no need to remove the steering wheel.
There is no need to unplug any of the wiring plugs. Its all a bit tight but it is possible. When you have access to the printed circuit board behind the dials a small screw needs to be taken out and then replaced in the hole next to it. this resets the light for the next 60K . I think there is someone on y tube who has done this but he took the steering wheel off  there is no need.
It seems very difficult to do but when you get into it its not that bad..

Good luck

Paul

Hi Andy

Yes, that's the post but unfortunately all the images are gone to follow.

Thanks Paul for your reply, if only there was an easier way?

I just left mine, couldn't be bothered with the hassle I know it's done and I'm keeping it forever so I'm happy.

Sorry about the lack of pictures in that post - blame Photobucket for upping their annual fee to $400 !

If you PM me with an e-mail address I'll send you some of the pictures to help you along.

Cheers.

Bob.

Bob, I'm using Postimage now, it's free but not as good as the bucket site.
