Hello all, new member here looking for help as I have a strange problem related to the Steering wheel position sensor and wondered if anyone may be able to help.
The story so far on my 1999 100 series, I recently changed the complete Indicator/Wiper unit as the dog chewed the levers each side, still worked fine with no problems but looked and felt horrible to use.
I got a good used part and fitted it and then took for a drive, this is when the problems started! When driving with the Indicator stalk in the neutral position, turning the steering wheel left or right would make the indicator for that side flash rapidly, if I used the indicator and then turned the Steering wheel, all indicators would flash as if hazards are on!, basically turning the steering wheel makes the Indicators flash for the direction you turn.
At a standstill, turning the steering wheel each way makes the indicators flash and seems to correspond with the Steering wheel position sensor window cut outs.
After lots of checking cables/connectors, all seem fine and I have now unplugged the steering wheel position sensor and the indicators work fine now, but concerned the steering position sensor will not be working now, anyone have any ideas what's happening? |

I cannot help with a exact answer, but sounds like a wiring problem, when you fitted the replacement were the plugs/sockets a exact match ? and have you checked any earths ?
If you still have the old unit just plug in and see if it performs ok
just a couple of points _________________ 2004 Amazon 100 series

Forgot to put above that i did plug the old one back in and it was still showing the same faults, all plugs were the same and look ok along with the wiring. |
