|
|
Hi,
I have 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser LC300. I bought trailer harness item# PZQ6160540 and plugged it into my car, but I didn't get any power to the 7-pin trailer socket (Checked by voltage tester). I went to Toyota dealer but unfortunately, they don't have any idea about the trailer harness or even how it works!! I suppose there is a trailer ECU, unmarked fuse or missing relay which control the power that goes to the trailer socket. Any idea to solve this problem?

Hi I cannot say for your particular vehicle, but a lot of towbar electrics now are controlled by CanBus so it need to see t trailer plugged in (drawing power) so checking with a voltage tester won't show any results, if you tow a trailer plug it in and see if every thing works on the trailer (assuming it all works on the trailer).
Not quite what you are saying bit I wanted to add extra reversing lights and though I would tap into the trailer socket and as you have said checked with DVM and no voltage but when trailer plugged in the lights work
Hope that helps _________________ 2004 Amazon 100 series

Thank you for your reply, I tried to plug in the trailer light but it didn’t work. knowing that I checked the trailer light on another vehicle and it worked. Does the SUB BATTERY or PTC1 relays have anything to do with output power of the trailer plug ? |
