Hi i am new to the club and i am after a bit of help ,i want to buy a land cruise 80 to go morocco  next year and hopefully africa in a couple of years but i am unsure if i could get away with a auto or is it better to get a manual .thanks

I am no off-road expert but maybe a manual would be better for you!

If you do any serious work in a hot climate the transmission cooling system may not be able to cope very well.

But what the heck do I know Confused

My own LC is an auto and I would not have anything else  Very Happy

A friend of mine offroads with an auto RRover but prior to that had a manual Frontera. He says that he didn't feel that the levels of control were quite the same with an auto. I've always used manual so I can't say.

Just bought an 80 Auto. Also have a bobtailed Discovery Auto for offroad and a manual L200 for work (forestry, so mainly off road and load lugging). Given the choice I'd go auto all the time. Purely my opinion but, higher fuel consumption aside, you can't beat em. G
