Recently purchased an LJ78, great condition etc, however the radio cassette/CD (double unit) was gubbed. Bought a replacement system and went to install, just to discover that the speakers are all the wrong side of a power amp. The cable loom for the radio disappears into the deepest possible recesses of the dash and I can't find the bloody power amp to get myself a hold of the output to the speakers. Any bright spark out there know where its hidden??
One further daft question on the 4WD. I've a hub lock switch on the dash along side a switch marked H4. The hub lock does what is says on the tin and the H4 engages the forward drive shaft from the main box. All quiet sensible except when would your ever want one without the other and in which case why not one switch?? There must be a very sensible reason.

Cheers,

Andy

The power amp is in the LHS rear panel just in front of the jack etc (if anyone is interested). Who would expect to connect a player in the dash and the front speakers in the rear of the jeep! Most of what I've found along the way is very logical but a wiring diagram would have saved hours. Embarassed

I connected up a towbar today. I had to connect into the main wiring harness even although there was a plug bang in the centre of the rear wiring harness. The plug was OC (open circuit) for every thing but earth. Does anyone know where the circuit is disconnected? I know toyota's are switched on the earth but this made no odds. Question
