Hello chaps, Due to the general greed and untrustworthiness of the local French mechanics, I am attempting DIY servicing, so how much oil does the 2L-TE take? Also is the red light on the instrument panel (next to the green turbo light) supposed to come on with the ignition? mine never ever comes on and I am now worried that the bulb may be out or something.

Thanks all.

About seven litres - depends if you change the filter every 5000km with the oil. I can never see the point of putting clean oil through a dirty filter! Put in 6.5 litres and then top up on the dipstick. Run the engine for a couple of minutes to fill up the spaces and top up as required.
As for the lamp - either the bulb has gone or the sensor at the engine end or the wire is broken or the.....!
